Hi Folks,
Please find below the pre-order details for Saturday 12th May. There are a few new recipes this week which have been causing a bit of a stir! I’ve had a lot of interest & queries about the miso and sesame sourdough loaf since posting a photograph on instagram & facebook! It has to be my most hotly anticipated loaf to date so I do hope people enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the test batch!!
Also new this week is our first batch of vegan/dairy-free scones which have been in planning/testing for some time – really happy to be releasing these now and would welcome any feedback on them.
Read on for this week’s selection…
1/ Miso & Sesame sourdough – What to say about this one! Most hotly anticipated loaf of the year! 😉 The miso and black & white sesame meld beautifully to create a wonderful umami experience, cut with a slight lactic sourness. The smell and taste of this loaf is divine (Medium loaf £3.50) (Vegan, dairy free).

2/ White Buttermilk sourdough – This is a simple white loaf with a difference! Some of the water in the dough has been replaced with buttermilk. Buttermilk is the liquid left over from churning butter. On its own it has a yoghurt like quality and taste. However, in this bread it transforms a straight-up white dough into something wonderful. The lactose sugar in the buttermilk enhance the crust formation so you have a loaf with an amazing crunchy crust hiding a beautifully soft and creamy crumb underneath (Medium loaf £3.00) (Vegetarian)

3/ Olive & Rosemary sourdough – classic flavour combination & firm customer favourite! This loaf contains a mixture of juicy green & kalamata olives, pumpkin seeds and rosemary (medium loaf £3.50) (Vegan, dairy free)

4/ 100% Dark-rye sourdough – this loaf is made with pure wholemeal rye and is hard to beat for flavour, digestibility and nutritional content. Rye is rich in manganese, copper, magnesium, phosphorous, B-complex vitamins, dietary fibre, and phenolic antioxidant compounds. This type of bread is popular in continental Europe but is also now catching on here for people who cannot tolerate wheat. It keeps fresh for over a week in a bread bin or airtight container (medium loaf £3.50) (Vegan, dairy free)

5/ Sourdough Bialys – with caramelised onion, gruyere cheese and East Coast Cured Nduja (spicy salami).
Bialys were originally made by Jewish bakers in Bialystok, Poland. They can be eaten cold and are also delicious served warm. We’ve taken the original concept for bialys and made a sourdough version with our own take on the fillings! (£2 each).

6/ Apple & Cinnamon scones (£1 each) (Vegetarian)
7/ Vegan/dairy-free lemon & blueberry scones – in order to make production practical for these scones there is a minimum order quantity of four scones (£1 each) (Vegan, dairy-free)
Also available are the following stock items:
